Trick to use Rupee symbol in Document and Webpages !

We know that Government has introduced the symbol for the Indian currency(Rupee). But most of them don’t know how to use rupee symbol in Documents or in webpages. So we are posting here a simple procedure to use Rupee symbol in Document and Webpages.
Using Rupee symbol in  Documents(such as DOC, PPT, XLS...) is quite easy but to use it in webpages you have to  follow different procedure which is explained below.

Using Rupee symbol in your documents:

A new font has been released by Foradian Technologies which is used to write the Rupee symbol in written documents.
You have to follow the procedure given below

1. Follow this link to download the Rupee font  Download Rupee Symbol
2. After downloading the file, double click on it to install the font or simply copy it to the "Font" folder present in Control panel.
3.Now go to your document and select the font 'Rupee Foradian' from your font list. Now press the Tilde symbol '~' given on the keyboard to display rupee symbol.  
Note that there is no need to press shift,ctrl or alt.


 



Using the Rupee symbol on webpage:

This can done in two different ways,

1. By using style sheet
You have to link your page with the external stylesheet by adding the following link

          <link rel="stylesheet" type="test/css" href="http://webrupee.com/font">

then add this code line where ever you want the symbol

          [span class="WebRupee"]Rs.[/span]

2. By using JavaScript.
You have to add the following JavaScript line in  head part of HTML page

           <script src="http://webrupee.com/js" type="test/javascript"></script>
